What is the best way to organise my journey?

You can fly to Marco Polo Airport. If you prefer travelling by train, you can also travel to Venezia Santa Lucia Central Station.

If you would like to book a transfer from Venezia Santa Lucia airport or central station to the hotel in Burano, you can select this when booking or simply let us know and we will organise it for you.

Can I cancel my trip?

If the traveller withdraws before the start of the trip or does not start the trip, Ventura loses the right to the travel price. Instead, Ventura may demand reasonable compensation from the traveller. This shall not apply if Ventura is responsible for the cancellation or if unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity, which significantly impair the performance of the package tour or the transport of persons to the destination; circumstances are unavoidable and extraordinary if they are beyond the control of the party invoking them and their consequences could not have been avoided even if all reasonable precautions had been taken.

Ventura has defined this claim for compensation to which it is entitled in the following cancellation fees. The calculation is made taking into account the time of the cancellation declared by the traveller up to the contractually agreed start of the trip, the expected saving of expenses and the expected acquisition through alternative use of the travel services. The compensation shall be calculated as follows according to the time of receipt of the declaration of cancellation by Ventura or the travel agent:

a) General cancellation fee (as a percentage of the travel price):

For bookings in the CLASSIC fare: up to 65 days before departure 20% from the 64th to 30th day before departure 25% 45% from the 29th to 15th day before departure from the 14th to 7th day before departure 60% from the 6th day before departure 80% 90% on the day of departure and in the event of a no-show

For bookings in the FLEXI fare: up to 65 days before departure 0% from the 64th to the 45th day before departure 10% from the 44th to the 30th day before departure 20% from 29 days before departure, the cancellation fees are identical to those of the CLASSIC rate

b) Special cancellation fee:

Special offers/specials, individually prepared package tours and group tours may be subject to special cancellation conditions, to which explicit reference is made in the respective service description or travel advertisement/offer and the travel confirmation in accordance with Art. 250 §§ 3, 6 EGBGB.

Ventura reserves the right to demand higher, specifically calculated compensation instead of the above cancellation flat rates, insofar as Ventura can prove the occurrence of significantly higher expenses than the applicable cancellation flat rate.

Do I need travel insurance?

We advise you to take out travel cancellation insurance, as it can always happen that you are unable to travel shortly before the departure date due to unforeseen illness, an accident or for other reasons. Repatriation assistance insurance is strongly recommended!

If you pay for your Feast trip with your VISA credit card, you are normally insured, but please ask your bank to confirm this. If you do not wish to take out insurance, Feast cannot be held liable.

Feast's travel insurance offer:

We offer 3 types of insurance (cancellation cover/all-round cover/travel cover) when you book online through our partner HanseMerkur. Of course, you can also contact other insurance companies of your choice.

The following links will take you to the insurance booking portal. After booking, you will receive your insurance documents and invoice directly from our partner HanseMerkur.

Is the flight and transfer to and from the airport included?

No, all our tours include an individual journey in order to avoid unnecessary national bundled flights and to give you the opportunity to organise your journey individually.

We are happy to help you plan and decide on flights, train connections or intermediate stages.

If you need a transfer from the airport or train station, we can organise this for you.

What accommodation options do I have as a solo traveller?

Single travellers on this trip have the option of staying in a single room for an additional charge. The single room surcharge is shown for the respective trip under the "Dates and prices" tab. Alternatively, we offer the "half double room" option: you share a double room with a traveller of the same sex. If there is no room partner, we will accommodate you in a single room at half the price.

When booking the last place and for bookings at short notice, we will only confirm the "half double room" if a suitable room partner has been registered. Otherwise we will offer the single room at the full price.

What are the payment terms?

A deposit of 20% of the tour price is due upon receipt of the invoice. Please transfer the remaining payment no later than 21 days before departure. Bank transfers from Germany and other EU countries via IBAN and BIC are fast and inexpensive. You can also pay conveniently by credit card.

What happens if the minimum number of participants is not reached?

According to our terms and conditions, we can cancel the trip if the minimum number of participants is not reached up to 21 days before the start of the trip. As a rule, we will inform you one month in advance to discuss alternatives. You can then, for example, choose another date or an alternative trip. If these options are not suitable for you, we will refund the full travel costs already paid. However, it is rare that a trip cannot be realised. As soon as a trip is guaranteed to take place, we will highlight this on our "Dates & Prices" page.

What is the best way to organise my journey?

You can fly to Rome by plane. From the airport, take the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini railway station. From Roma Termini station, take the train to Trevi.

We recommend our transfer service, which can be booked from Trevi station depending on your arrival time. You can select the transfer when booking or simply let us know and we will organise it for you.

When should I book my flight or train tickets?

You can start organising and booking your journey as soon as we have confirmed that the trip is guaranteed to take place. This happens at the latest approx. 30 days before the start of the trip. If the minimum number of participants has already been reached, you will of course be informed immediately.

Are we always accompanied by our tour guide?

One of our bilingual tour guides is always present for all activities. However, we also encourage you to go on your own discovery tour during your free time. Mediterranean countries are safe countries to travel to and it is very exciting to gather your own travel experiences and share them later, as everyone experiences a country differently. For your free days or afternoons, you can always ask your tour guide for tips.

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?

If you have decided to arrive earlier or stay longer, we can take care of booking the nights for you in the hotel of your choice. Either to get to know other regions of the country you are visiting before travelling or to spend the last few days relaxing at a beach destination, for example.

If you have individual wishes, we will be happy to advise you and arrange the perfect trip for you.

You will receive the prices for the additional nights from us on request.

How big is the tour group?

The maximum group size is 12 participants, a minimum number of 4 participants must be reached for the trip to take place.

How can I be sure when I book through an online provider?

We are part of Ventura TRAVEL GmbH, a German-based company that has been active in sustainable tourism in South America, Asia and Europe for 20 years. Over 10,000 customers have already booked holidays with Ventura online and are now part of our regular customer base.

Feast has been a Ventura brand since 2022 and benefits from the team, software and experience of Ventura TRAVEL.

How do we guarantee that our trips are authentic?

The aim of Feast trips is to get to know the soul of a country's cuisine and not to mechanically work through well-known highlights.

Contact with the local population is very important to us, as this is what makes our trips so special. We create this through small, family-run hotels, as well as workshops and activities in the homes of locals. Cookery courses, olive oil tastings, wine tastings or visits to producers - these moments allow us to get to know the true hospitality of the Mediterranean and people's philosophies of life, which we can take home with us. At the same time, this ensures that all expenses remain in the country itself and directly benefit the locals, as this is also part of Feast's sustainability concept.

Is it possible to receive reviews from existing customers?

Yes, please take a look at our reviews page. Some customers allow to be contacted so you can hear directly from our customers how they felt on their trip.

What level of physical fitness do your tours require?

We design our itineraries with a balance between comfort and a moderate level of physical fitness in mind. We do our best to accommodate all levels of physical fitness and inform our guests if this is not possible. If travellers have any physical conditions or limitations that may affect their travel experience, they should contact our travel specialists immediately.

What means of transport do we use?

We use a minibus for almost all our trips, and we attach great importance to quality. For example, our minibuses are designed in such a way that there is enough space for hand luggage. On some trips, we also explore some highlights on foot or by bike to immerse ourselves fully in local life.

On some of our trips we also travel by ferry or boats.

Why are there no trips to Rome or the Cinque Terre?

At Feast, we focus on experiencing authentic Italy. We like to focus on small, lesser-known places that have a lot to offer in terms of cuisine and culture. We want to show you these places the way we would with friends.

Did you know that 92% of Italy's culinary treasure is hidden in small, sometimes unknown places? We would like to look over the shoulders of the local people there with you and get to know their philosophies of life.

Will I have nice fellow travellers?

A good atmosphere is very important to us. Fortunately, our trips attract nice and open-minded people. In the event that a guest is problematic on a trip, our tour guides are trained to deal with this. This way we make sure that you can enjoy your trip.

We also have a blacklist to guarantee that only nice people can book with us again ;)

Do I need an adapter?

No, you do not need an adapter for most sockets. However, in addition to the C and F type sockets commonly used in Germany, there is also a type L socket in Italy. Frequent travellers often have an all-in-one adapter that works all over the world and this would then also be suitable for all Italian socket types.

What is VSocial and what does the donation mean?

Social commitment has been very important to us at Ventura TRAVEL since our foundation. For this reason, Ventura TRAVEL founded the non-profit organisation VSocial in 2002. The organisation supports community tourism projects in numerous Latin American countries.

VSocial supports the projects not only financially, but also through knowledge transfer. In this overview you can see how the donations are used.

VSocial is mainly financed by donations, project sponsorships and special donations from travellers. We therefore forward 10 euros from each traveller as a donation to VSocial. This is not a lot, but even with small contributions VSocial can achieve a lot. If you do not wish to do this, simply make a brief note in the comments field of your booking or call your customer advisor. The EUR 10 is already included in all travel prices, so the donations do not represent any additional costs.

Further information on the projects and the use of the donations can be found on the VSocial website
